Motive No. 2, 2014

Created as part of my thesis project at Cawthra Park Secondary school in Mississauga, ON. I created this body of work while exploring how television and social media impact the development of a generation.

Motive No. 2 is a print I created in reference to a news story about a girl in China who assaulted and murdered her peer, Zhou, at school. While there aren’t many details released about the crime, it has been confirmed that the girl’s motive had to do with Zhou’s appearance. She had described Zhou as tall and slim.

In this print, I used a projector to project the words “Zhou was tall and slim” onto the roof of my mouth.
